Just like any furnishings, we recommend regular cleaning to be carried out to ensure the best performance and appearance of your
blinds and shutters.
Basswood, Paulownia, Ecowood and Aluminum Blinds
Dust regularly.
Use a soft clean cloth, chemically treated dust cloth or dusting mitt. Lower the blind to its full length, tilt the slats almost all the way down and dust. Then tilt the slats almost all the way up and dust.
Vacuuming the blinds is also an option. Make sure to use the brush attachment and tilt the slats up and down as described for dusting.
Wiping the dust off the surface with a soft and damp cloth is also a simple way to clean your blinds and shutters.
Basswood and Paulownia Blinds Only
Stained blinds should be cleaned and treated on a regular basis with lemon oil or other wood preservative to protect its surface and enhance its look.
Ecowood and Aluminum Blinds
You can wash the slats only using a non-abrasive mild detergent solution and then wait for it to air dry to preserve the dust repellent properties of the slats.
Immersing the ecowood or aluminium slats and bottom rails into water enables you to thoroughly clean the blinds.
Never immerse headrail at all times. Bathtub cleaning is not recommended for blinds with ladder tapes.
Basswood and PVC Shutters
Clean using a dry and soft feather duster, clean cloth, dust cloth or dusting mitt.
A vacuum with the soft brush attachment can also be used.
Do not ultra-sonic clean or use chemical-based solvents to clean the surface in that this will damage the product.
Shutters may accumulate static during the shipping and installation process. If static does accumulate, the shutter can therefore attract dust, to reduce static cling and help repel dust, you can wipe its surface with a soft, clean towel with mild soap and water or fabric dryer sheet.
Roller and Vertical Blinds
Dust regularly with a piece of soft cloth.
Vacuuming is also recommended. Use a hand-held vacuum with low suction for thorough dust removal.
Spot cleaning with warm water and a mild detergent.
You can use compressed air or a hair dryer (cool setting) to blow the dust off the fabric.
Shangri-La, Honeycomb and Zebra Blinds
Dust regularly with a feature duster.
Vacuuming is also recommended. Use a hand-held vacuum with low suction for thorough dust removal.
You can use compressed air or a hair dryer (cool setting) to blow the dust off the fabric.
Fascia front face is covered with the same fabric in the same color as the blind fabric and sheer, therefore we recommend to spot clean the fascia using a sponge or delicate cloth with cool distilled water and mild soap. Handle with care as you would with any fine fabric.
For Shangri-La blinds, do not spot-clean anything other than the fascia.
Take extra care when dusting and vacuuming the sheer layer on Shangri-La and Zebra blinds.
Do not use alcohol, baby wipes or alkaline cleansers at all times, as such articles will stain and destroy the finish.
As with all textiles, fabrics, especially the sheer layers on Shangri-La and Zebra blinds are subject to variations.
Variations include slight wrinkling, puckering or bowing that are inherent to textile product and should be considered normal, acceptable quality. These material characteristics are often not visible from the front and rear but
may be visible from a side angle.
Precautions should be taken to reduce harsh environmental elements, such as direct exposure to salty air and sunlight.
Continuous exposure through open windows and
doors will accelerate finish deterioration.
